NORMAL Walk-In SCHEDULE

• OPEN for Walk-In Tours  (Now thru Dec 20th)   
  • HOURS – Saturday or Sunday 1:00 – 4:00 p.m. (Unless otherwise posted below and on Facebook)
  • TICKETS
    • Tickets for normal tour days and hours, are always available in advance or at the door.
      • Please confirm the museum house is open BEFORE purchasing your ticket in advance.
    • Tickets for special appointment times ~ if you are unable to come on the weekends ~ may also be purchased online.
      • Confirm a special tour appointment first by calling 913-787-1707 BEFORE purchasing your ticket.
    • Tour Tickets purchased online, in advance, will be given priority over walk-ins. purchase tour tickets by Credit Card or PayPal HERE.
• CLOSED for Walk-In Tours (Periodically Walk-In Tours are closed for holidays, special events or due to Tour Guide schedule conflicts and dates will be listed here.) 

SELF-GUIDED TOURS are not available

APPOINTMENTS available for Individual or Group Tours, and Field Trips 

(7 days a week, now thru Dec. 20th) and FIELD TRIPS (Mon -Sat thru Dec. 18th)  If you cannot come on the weekend, call 913-787-1707 to schedule your tour appointment any day of the week —  based on the availability of tour guides. Appointments include groups up to 12 people, field trips, or individuals.

CURRENT EXHIBITS in the Museum House

• All Hallows’ Eve: Handmade Halloween Artifacts from the 1900s–1920sLocation: In the dining room, with additional items displayed throughout the Harris-Kearney House Museum.

  • On Loan: Featuring a collection of historic Halloween artifacts generously loaned by collectors Randy Doler and Juliet Rujevcan.
  • About the Exhibit: Explore our interpretation of how Americans—and Westport residents—celebrated Halloween from the 1900s through the 1920s
  • Handmade Traditions: Discover an assortment of handmade Halloween decorations and party items that reflect the creativity and traditions of the era before mass production of decorations, costumes, and candy began.

• • Historic Photographs: View authentic photographs from the period that provide a glimpse into Halloween celebrations of the time.
  • A Westport Connection: The exhibit includes a 1904 photograph of a Halloween party held in a Shirtwaist style home in Westport, offering a rare look at how local residents celebrated more than 120 years ago.

• Documenting History “Working” Exhibit

  • Inventory of everything in the museum house or in storage is being managed by volunteers. (located in the 2nd floor gallery)
