The Gifts of Being Grand – Special Grandparent’s Day Family Event

Inspired by Marianne Richmond’s book, “The Gifts of Being Grand,” WHS is offering an opportunity for you to make the Westport Art Fair a fun 3-generational family event this year. Celebrate through art, the beautiful balance of age and youth, experience and innocence, with lots of  laughs, giggles, and hugs on Sunday, Sept 7^th, anytime between  1– 4 p.m., when parents can take time to see the art fair without their 3-10 year old kids tagging along. While the grandparent(s) give parent(s)  a break, they will have some time to enjoy together  drawing and creating portraits of themselves with their grandchild(ren), at tables set up around the yard and on the verandas.

Each child will be provided with construction paper and crayons, and each family will be given the one book by Marianne Richmond, “The Gifts of Being Grand”.

In the event of hot sun or even rain, we will have 10×10 art fair style tents covering the tables, as well as tables set up on the covered veranda.

All children must be accompanied by an adult. This event is aimed at children between the ages of 3-10. Mini-water bottles and cookies will be available.

The museum house will be open to the public for guided tours from 1-4:30 p.m., normal admission fees will apply for guided tours. Restrooms available for guests.
